Here we have the common woodchuck, or ground hog.  He seems to have made a home under the shed with his family and wanders out frequently into the yard, the price you pay for not having the time to mow.

Ah, another family member arrives, as the first poses for the camera.

He keeps a look out for hostile enemies.

And then the mighty hunter sees them and creeps up slowly towards them.

Smokey carefully surveys the area.

...and then creeps ever so slowly towards it...closer....

...closer...

And ready to chase!. (The next several frames have been deleted due to their violent nature!)

Though shortly after this chase, the wood chuck chased Smokey.

This is a partial list of some of the items that Smokey has captured for me.  When he is out side, he likes to leave the prey near the doorstep for me.

Moles (big and ugly)
Rabbit (bunny fur was EVERYWHERE!)
Snake
Squirrel
Toads
Voles
Weasel

Beats when he was in the house, and would always leave the best food at the foot of my bed <g>
